The Annual Tree Trimming Project is well underway as Frames Tree Service is continuing thinning and trimming the trees in the community. Today, they will be finishing trimming all of the trees in Patio Villas and another crew is currently working in the Condominiums. During the process, the tree trimmers first trim palms that they are able to climb, then thin the trees that are easily reachable and finish using the cherry picker to shape, thin and trim large trees and palms. If you think that the trimmers have missed trimming a tree or have any questions, please contact the office and we will check it out. Frames will be trimming around the Clubhouse and Pool Area, as well as removing stumps towards the end of the project, which should be completed by April 1st.

Felix & Associates, the contractor for the City of Boynton Beach installed new sod and Bahia grass yesterday, as part of the agreement to renovate the area that was used as an easement and staging area for the installation of the new water line on Boynton Beach Blvd. The area should actually look better than it did before the project, once the new sod gets established.

Mike Farrell, our contracted irrigation specialist, spent Thursday, Friday and part of last weekend extending irrigation lines and sprinklers, in order to make sure the new sod would get plenty of water. Mike, as usual, worked diligently to complete the work in a timely matter and we are very lucky to have Mike as our irrigation specialist. In addition, Mike Farrell is looking into possible remedies to improve the water level at the lake by the Cabana Club. Management will report back to the Board of any possible options.

Last week, Epic Wireless Corporation installed the latest software for all of our security cameras last week, both in the Clubhouse, as well as the Boynton Beach Blvd and Military Trail entrances. The new software enables motion sensor capabilities for the cameras, which will make it easier to review any incidents that occur at those locations.

Carrier Corporation Services replaced a thermostat and a duct detection sensor for the air conditioning system in the Center. The cost of the diagnosing the problem and the new parts including installation totaled $1,450.

Trugreen Landcare, is continuing to thin and cut back overgrown areca palms in the community. Trugreen has completed their work in Patio Villas and will finish up on 53rd Way in Clearbrook Village . The cost of this additional project is $2,600.50.

The POA recently purchased two new stereo receivers, with satellite radio and other capabilities at a cost of $738.62. We replaced the receiver at the Cabana Club, which was broken and also replaced the one at the Clubhouse, keeping the old receiver as a backup.

The 2010 Banyan Springs POA audit by Lamn, Krielow, Dytrych & Company, the Association’s Certified Public Accountants, has finished collecting all of the financial information needed and is in the process of completing the 2010 Financial Statements. Once a draft is received by the Board and approved, the Financial Statements will be available at the office for any interested unit owner. We will be posting notices around the Clubhouse and on Channel 63, when they are available.
